What are some good modern "solo-exploration&qu ot; horror books?
Q. What are some good horror books that primarily feature one person travelling alone into an unknown place (haunted house, other dimension, etc), and their experiences there? If Alice in Wonderland was a horror book, it would be a perfect example. I suppose the Silent Hill video games are sort of in that theme (one person, travelling alone, isolated, etc.). Pan's Labyrinth is a good film example of this genre.
Asked by - Fri Dec 25 21:57:16 2009 - Books & Authors - 1 Answers - Comments

A. There are lots of them. I was going to say that Silent Hill-esque games are still very popular. There are many solo horror stories in the horror/fantasy section of your local bookstore. Ghost stories seem particular popular for this type of adventure. As to why people like group explorations, it is because it gives you more fodder to get killed, betray, fall in love, etc. More than one person opens up access to a host of emotions and story-telling options not available to a single character.

A. Since the traditional ruler of this house is Sagittarius, the opposite sign, you are interested in expanding your mind with issues other than the usual. You are not so much interested in higher minded things like college or philosophy. You prefer to think of yourself as a graduate of the school of hard knocks and the neighborhood. You are interested in information from your city or state and have no interest in exotic travel. You love to talk to people and have a tendency to gossip. You might be good at writing a column, or book about your own experiences from your life.

Mars exploration "Our we geting on money's worth, and persuedng the public we should go to Mars"?
Q. benefits please
Asked by Tiger - Sun May 20 17:38:19 2007 - Astronomy & Space - 3 Answers - Comments

A. It's mostly a luxury item and is easy to find arguments against it (as there are better things to spend our money on). The benefits are advancements in our understanding of planets, gets people interested in learning about science, and is entertaining. If you accept the argument that it is okay to put aside a percentage of our national budget for luxuries (and I do) then I think we have a chance to justify it. In truth, sending people to Mars will be absurdly expensive so I'd prefer just sticking with robots in space for awhile.

A. Spain wins the race, and the brits follow through the shrouds of religous persecution, who doesnt run from that. Any ways the spanish would land grab around the south, and the brits would land grab around the north. It was all about natural resources when exploring the new world. Whether it be gold, labor, or land. people expanded from the caribean OUTWARDs.
